An aftermarket downpipe replaces the power-squeezing downpipe that is screwed to the turbo or the exhaust manifold of your car from the factory. An optimized downpipe has a larger diameter and a flow-enhancing shape, usually with fewer bends and twists.

This faster discharge of exhaust gases results in:

• Less back pressure, which makes the turbo spool up and build boost faster. This minimizes turbo lag when accelerating and shifting.

Please note: if you opt for a so-called decat downpipe, it may be necessary to make further adjustments. For example, writing out lambda sensors or reprogramming the ECU i.e. engine management. This prevents issues with periodic vehicle approval, CELs or error notifications on your dashboard.
